Using the Prompt Pane in Composer

K
Written by Kay Chen

The user interface (UI) of Certara.AI Composer is split into three sections:

The right-hand sources pane is where you manage your source content, the prompt pane is where you can type prompts or questions to interact with Composer, and the left-hand conversation pane serves as a display for responses to the conversation(s) with the model.

Attachments

You can attach documents or text to the Attachments section, which can help you perform specific actions found within the Common Actions button.

Attach to Prompt

  1. Click on the ellipsis in the document name

  2. Click Attach to Prompt

You will then see the document listed in the Attachments window.

Add Text

  1. Select the chunk of text and click on Attach To Prompt

You will then see the text selection added (which also includes the character count) in the Attachments window.

🛑 Pro Tip - Manually typed text in the messaging field can make it difficult for Composer to accurately refine its responses throughout the conversation and can lead to confusion and misunderstandings when sharing your project. Keep this in mind when using messaging for summarization in Composer.

Common Actions

The Common Actions button allows you to Summarize Custom Text or Summarize Attachments.

Summarize Custom Text

This action enables the user to add a specific text segment to the Summarize Text field for summarization purposes. You can either type in the text manually or copy and paste it.

Summarize Attachments

This action enables users to generate a succinct summary of the documents or text segments that have been added to the Attachments window. The feature is designed to facilitate the process of summarizing information by automatically condensing the input data into a concise format. By utilizing this feature, users can save time and effort while ensuring that the essential information is captured accurately. The Attachments window displays the summarized information in a user-friendly format, making it easy for users to review and share the information with others.

Message Composition Window

The messaging field is designated for composing your question. When you're ready to send your prompt to the model, click the submit button located at the bottom of the field.

💡 Pro Tip - Include relevant information and keep conversations focused to ensure successful execution. Composer remembers the conversation history, so ask direct follow-up questions to keep histories and resources clear.

You can keep your histories and resources clear by starting a new conversation.
