Project attributes enable the standardized reuse of key terminology and phrasing across all documents, ensuring consistency and cohesion in your communication.

By leveraging a single, authoritative source, you can guarantee a unified message that resonates throughout your project, eliminating inconsistencies and reinforcing your core narrative.

Utilize the attribute list to:

  • Insert the attribute

  • Preview the attribute

  • Edit the attribute

Insert an Attribute

To incorporate an attribute into your document, simply position your cursor at the desired location and insert the relevant attribute. Upon insertion, a comment will be automatically generated, clearly indicating which project attribute was utilized, thereby ensuring transparency and facilitating easy tracking.

How to Insert an Attribute

Insert an attribute with the following steps:

  1. Log into CoAuthor

  2. Click on the Projects Icon

  3. Click on your project name

  4. In the Documents tab, click on the document you'd like to add the attribute to

  5. Once the document opens up in Word, click on the CoAuthor Add-in

  6. Position your cursor in the document at the location where you wish to insert the attribute

  7. Click on the insert →] icon in the row of the attribute you would like to add to the document

    The attribute, along with the name of the editor and the attribute name, is added to aid the QC process.

Preview an Attribute

Previewing an attribute enables you to review and refine your content in context, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality. Verify formatting, relevance, and suitability before inserting into your document, streamlining your writing process and boosting confidence in your output.

How to Preview an Attribute

Preview an attribute with the following steps:

  1. Log into CoAuthor

  2. Click on the Projects Icon

  3. Click on your project name

  4. In the Documents tab, click on the document you'd like to add a prompt to

  5. Once the document opens in Word, click on the CoAuthor Add-in

  6. In the CoAuthor Add-in panel, click on Attributes

  7. Click on the preview Icon

  8. Click the insert icon from the Preview pop-up to insert the attribute

Edit an Attribute

Editing attributes helps refine and customize content to fit your needs, allowing you to correct errors, improve readability, and maintain brand consistency.

How to Edit an Attribute

To edit an attribute, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into CoAuthor

  2. Click on the Projects Icon

  3. Click on your project name

  4. In the Documents tab, click on the document you'd like to add a prompt to

  5. Once the document opens in Word, click on the CoAuthor Add-in

  6. In the CoAuthor Add-in panel, click on Attributes

  7. Click on the ellipsis on the same row as the attribute you would like to edit, then click Edit

  8. In the Edit Attribute modal, input the desired Attribute Text

  9. Click Save
