Using the Source Pane in Composer

The user interface (UI) of Certara.AI Composer is split into three sections:

The right-hand sources pane is where you manage your source content, the prompt pane is where you can type prompts or questions to interact with Composer, and the left-hand conversation pane serves as a display for responses to the conversation(s) with the model.

Add Documents to the Sources Pane

There are three methods to add a document to Composer.

  1. Clicking on the plus sign

  2. Dragging and Dropping.

  3. Select previously used documents from the Search Results. Detailed instructions on these procedures can be found in the following article. How to Add a Document | Certara.AI Help Center

Attach To Prompt or Remove from Sources

From the default view of the documents added to the sources pane, you can Attach to Prompt or Remove from sources by clicking on the ellipsis next to the document name.

Adds the entire document to the Attachments window of the Prompt pane.

Removes the entire document from the sources pane.

Sources Document Viewer Toolbar

After attaching one or multiple documents in the Sources pane, there are various viewing options available.

Upon selecting a document, a toolbar will be displayed at the top of the viewer tab. To access these tools, simply click on the relevant button or icon.

The default view once you select a document is a preview of the document.

Thumbnails and Outline

To access the document's alternative viewing options, please click on the arrow adjacent to the windowpane icon. From there, you can choose between the Thumbnails or Outline view.

The Thumbnails option allows you to view the reduced page size so that you can quickly navigate to your desired page.

The Outline option lists the section headers so that you can easily identify and navigate to the desired section.

Hand Icon

The hand icon helps users scroll and pan within a document. By selecting it, users can easily navigate and locate the information they need.

💡Pro Tip - If you do not have the hand icon selected, you will have the option to select a chunk of the text from the document and add it to the prompt.

Plus and Minus Icons

The plus sign allows you to zoom in or zoom out of the page viewer.

Page Icon

The page icon facilitates the adjustment of the document view to "fit width," allowing for optimal page-fitting.

Search Icon

The search icon facilitates the process of locating specific keywords or phrases within the document that has been selected.

Printer Icon

The printer icon offers quick access to print settings for the selected document, streamlining the printing process and saving time.
