Written by Kay Chen

When working with prompts in CoAuthor, you may need to remove outdated or irrelevant source files across multiple prompts—especially when cleaning up documents or preparing them for new data. Bulk removing sources streamlines this process, allowing you to efficiently reset your prompts to a source-free state.

🛠️ Prerequisite

This guide assumes you’ve already created a document and added sources to your prompts. If not, refer to the article: Working with the Prompts Tab.

To bulk update sources for multiple prompts, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to CoAuthor.

  2. Navigate to your project.

  3. Open the document that contains prompts with attached sources.

  4. Once the document is open, click on the CoAuthor Add-in to activate the side panel on the right-hand side of the screen. This panel allows you to manage prompts, sources, and other document elements efficiently.

  5. Click on the Prompts tab.

  6. Select the prompts you want to update by checking the box next to each prompt.

  7. Click the Selected button at the top of the tab.

  8. From the Selected Actions menu, choose Manage Sources.

  9. In the Manage Sources modal:

    • Select the sources requiring modification

    • Click Remove, Update, or Apply (when a source was previously not found)
