Links can be edited in Publish, as described below, or in CROSSCHECK (see “Edit Links in CROSSCHECK” and “Edit Link Borders through CROSSCHECK” for more information).
Editing links uses a similar process as adding and deleting. To modify or edit a link, right-click the link, and select Edit.
Alternatively, select the Edit Link icon:
The same Links/Bookmarks pane will appear as mentioned in the “Add Links” section
Edit Links in CROSSCHECK
Link destination can be edited through the CROSSCHECK grid Destination Page column.
Select the CROSSCHECK tab and then the source document
Select (highlight) the link you want to edit, then type the new destination page number in the Destination Page column.
Save to view the change in the destination page.
Another option for editing links through the CROSSCHECK grid is to select the CROSSCHECK tab, the source document and then select (highlight) the link you want to edit.
Right-click the Destination Page column (or use the Control + E keyboard shortcut) to launch the Link window and edit the link.
Edit Link Borders through CROSSCHECK
The Border column is a flag that will be checked if links have a visible box around them. If an incorrect border color is applied, these can be modified in bulk to meet ICH and regional guidance.
Note: The blue boxes CROSSCHECK uses to identify links in the Preview pane are solely used to provide visual identification of a link. This box will not be visible when opening the document in Acrobat, unless a border color has been set during the link creation.
To change the link appearance to blue boxes for all links from CROSSCHECK, follow the steps below:
Select a row in the CROSSCHECK grid
Check the Border column for one row.
Choose the color in the Border Color row.
Right-click the row and choose Apply Selected Border To All CROSSCHECK Rows.
Save the changes.
The new changes will take effect once the sequence is published.
Note: When link appearance settings are modified in bulk, ALL links, including email links or website URLs, will be modified. Manual changes are required to revert these links to the original formatting.
To only modify the text color of links, please see the “Update Appearance” section on using Link in Publish.
