Add Values via the Sections Properties Tab

Within Publish, publishing administrators have the ability to add and modify properties to be selected from a dropdown box. If a property can have user defined values, an admin can prepopulate these values for ease of use and consistency in nomenclature.

To add a new value, navigate to the Sections tab, and select the type of value to add (substance, manufacturer, etc.) in the right-hand pane. Type the new value directly in the Sections Properties tab.

Press the Add button.

In the left pane, note that this new value is now available in the dropdown menu

Note: Be sure that the exact value has been agreed upon in advance and that the new entry is spelled correctly.

Modify Values

Through this pane, a publishing administrator can also manage the properties that have been previously added. This includes:

  • Editing current values

  • Removing inactive values

  • Disabling values that are no longer relevant

This is used to ensure that the values are not able to be used going forward, such as a manufacturer who is no longer used or no longer exists.

  • Enable previously disabled fields
