CoAuthor continues to evolve to meet the needs of data-driven users. With this latest update, users can now attach and preview dataset files directly within both the CoAuthor Word Add-in and the browser-based CoAuthor app—enhancing the AI's ability to generate context-aware responses from structured data.
Users can now include the following dataset file types as attachments:
.sas7bdat(SAS datasets).csv(Comma-separated values).xpt(SAS transport files).xlsx(Excel spreadsheets)
These files can be attached to:
AI Chat sessions in the CoAuthor browser app
Prompt attachments in the CoAuthor Word Add-in
How to Use Dataset Attachments
1. Attaching a Dataset
Open a chat or prompt in the CoAuthor Word Add-in or browser app.
Click the Attach button.
Select a supported dataset file from your device.
The file will appear in the attachment list.
💡 You can attach multiple files—including documents and datasets—in the same session.
2. Previewing Datasets
Click on the dataset name in the attachment list.
A preview window will open, showing a tabular view of the data.
You can scroll through rows and columns to inspect the contents before using them in your prompt or chat.
3. Managing File Size Limits
To ensure smooth performance:
If a file exceeds the maximum allowed size, you’ll see this message:
“File size exceeds the maximum allowed limit. Please attach a smaller one.”
Try compressing or trimming your dataset before re-uploading.
This enhancement empowers users to bring structured data into their AI workflows, enabling more intelligent, data-informed responses from CoAuthor. Whether you're analyzing clinical trial data, financial spreadsheets, or research datasets, CoAuthor now supports a broader range of content types to enrich your AI interactions.
